Superficialities

I am the last person in the world who believes in superficialities. Plagued by a number of illnesses and stress in my high school years, my self-esteem came not from my parched skin and listless hair or lack of fashionable clothing, but from my achievements in academics and debating. Troubled by parental discord, I never believed life was a cake. I know the value of struggle and suffering. I know what it can do to you. Thus, I am very tolerant of human frailties and dont believe that people who have a lack of self-confidence should be trampled upon. In fact, they should be treated with utmost care cause they are the most fragile. Anyhow, enough about my belief system.
The point that I'm trying to make is that ever since I have entered college and started dressing well and looking fairly decent (due to better conditions at home, by the grace of God) , I've noticed a sea-change in people's behaviours. It makes me laugh sometimes. And feel disgusted otherwise. I hope and pray that the person I am never changes because of these superficialities.

Introduction

This is it. Finally. I too have joined the "blog bandwagon". I have resisted for sometime. For rather silly reasons actually. Well, silly in retrospect, any way. At that point they seemed quite valid. True for most mistakes of the past! But now, with little time or inspiration to write just randomly, this seemed the best way not to forget my love for the written word. Thanks to a very sweet teacher, Maam Khan, and my recent self-discovery which has prompted me to never let go of my creativity, which is actually what makes me human, I refuse to stop writing. I write for me, so that all the multitude of jumbled thoughts in my head finally have an outlet.

Another good thing about blogging, as far am I am concerned, is that you invariably end up reading other people's blogs. This is something I find fascinating. I am fascinated with lives of people around the globe. I don't care for how celebrities live, the everydayness of life holds my interest.

This is new territory for me . And something tells me I am going to enjoy it. So lets blAST OFF!
